State of the Frugal Union

May 1st State of the Frugal Union

business background

The month of April we did alright- the numbers are decent, but I’m so so excited for the June 1st state of the frugal union, I can confidently say it’ll be a big one because our first paycheck from our extra jobs actually arrives on May 3rd and between the 2 of us we worked in the ball part of 80 hours woot! Here are the numbers from the month of April:

  1. Frugal house- $204,480
  2. Frugal Student Loans- $161,000
  3. Frugal Private Student Loan- $2,880
  4. Frugal Car 1- $13,200
  5. Frugal Car 2- $13,333
  6. Frugal Credit Cards Total- $33,530

That’s $2069 less than last month! A solid month and that included paying $1,000 for wood. So stay tuned for our biggest month yet! After May things will be quieting down for us and we’ll probably continue to see 2k months on the regular, we’ve got some big bills coming up and I’ll be traveling for work, so I don’t expect a whole lot in the way of working extra.

The weather here is supposed to be gorgeous tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to getting my laundry out on the line early and maybe squeezing in some yard clean up after work. How are you all doing?

  1. Sarah, great work and perseverance. I’m curious: which items are you prioritizing for payoff? It looks like the private student loan is top priority. What will come after That?

Again, great job and keep it going!

    1. Thanks Mari! Private student loan, then frugal car #1, then the credit cards, then Frugal car #2 (it has a 0% interest rate), then student loans and house. 🙂
